2015 NSBE-HESO event
Students attending last year's NSBE-HESO event show off projects.

Students in third through 12th-grades are invited to “Engineering the Elements” on Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers and Hispanics in Engineering & Sciences Organization, two students groups in the UNM College of Engineering.

The event will feature hands on science projects, campus tours, information panels and student mentors.

Nicole Baty, co-president of the UNM National Society of Black Engineers chapter said, “It offers an opportunity for students to learn what it’s like to be a Lobo from UNM students."

Individual students can register or teachers can register up to 15 students. Registration closes on Wednesday, April 13 at 6 p.m. Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided with registration.
