The University of New Mexico's Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) has reopened the Cornell Parking Structure elevator for daily use.
The Cornell elevator was vandalized in early-Jan. The tempered glass panel of the elevator shaft and the glass wall of the elevator were broken. Special plywood panels have been installed in place of the glass panels to allow for temporary use until the replacement glass arrives in mid-March.
To minimize further vandalism and additional damage, the Cornell elevators are now being monitored with video cameras and will have the following operational hours:
Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The elevator will also be available for use during special events and Popejoy shows.
Contact PATS with questions at 505-277-1938 or visit their website.
