The University of New Mexico's American Indian Student Services (AISS) hosts FAFSA Fridays every Friday from Feb. 1 – March 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the AISS office, room 1119 in Mesa Vista Hall.
Free drop-in assistance is available from financial aid experts in completing the 2013-2014 Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA) application for college-bound seniors and degree-seeking students. The financial aid application can be a daunting step in preparing for the 2013-2014 academic year but, with help, students can apply early and receive optimal consideration for financial aid.
The FAFSA form is used by colleges, universities and vocational schools to determine a student's complete financial aid package which can include grants, scholarships, work-study awards and federal loan assistance.
Required are Student and Parent PIN numbers, 2012 Federal Tax Returns and 2012 W-2's.
By completing the FAFSA application with AISS, students will be entered into a drawing for a $500 Scholarship or a chance to win a free laptop. For more details about the drawing, visit FAFSA.
