University of New Mexico Parking and Transportation Services announced that UNM staff and faculty living in the Bernalillo, Belen, Los Lunas and Santa Fe areas are eligible for a free "one day pass” to ride the New Mexico Railrunner Express in the month of September. As a Gold smart business partner, UNM is receiving a limited amount of free passes from Rio Metro Regional Transit District to distribute to employees.

UNM staff and faculty are encouraged to try the NM Railrunner as a means of alternative transportation to get to work. The Railrunner provides service between Belen and Santa Fe with PATS and UNMH commuter shuttle service between campus and the downtown Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC). This service is in addition to the ABQRide connections between the ATC and UNM.

To take advantage of the free day pass, UNM staff and faculty must submit an online form at NM RR Day Pass. Those interested will receive an email regarding pass distribution. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Visit NM RR Schedule and UNM/ATC shuttle for schedules. To work one-on-one with a Transportation Trip Advisor, visit or contact the PATS Transportation Information Center (TIC) in the Lower Level of the SUB. The TIC is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or call 505-277-1920.
