The Division for Equity and Inclusion is sponsoring The University of New Mexico’s institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) – part of UNM’s continued mission to build on its educational resources.

The NCFDD is an independent professional development, training and mentoring community of faculty, postdocs and graduate students from more than 450 colleges and universities with programs and services designed to help scholars increase research productivity and work-life balance. NCFDD offers professional development training and intensive mentoring programs including the following popular resources.

  • The WriteNow Platform: The NCFDD’s custom-made platform is a one-stop destination that allows academics to track their writing time, manage their daily and weekly goals, connect with small group members, and more.
  • NCFDD Virtual Workshops: These live online sessions allow participants to engage actively with the NCFDD’s content, connect with other academics, and take a deep dive into great topics like mentoring, time management, building a publishing pipeline, strategic planning, and more!
  • NCFDD’s Library: Available 24/7, the NCFDD’s Library contains a treasure trove of recorded webinars and multi-week courses that aim to support academics’ success with a wide range of topics that can be watched at your convenience.

To access NCFDD resources and register for upcoming webinars, faculty must first activate their NCFDD Membership and select University of New Mexico from the list of members.

NCFDD members can participate in the Faculty Success Program (FSP). The NCFDD-FSP is an intensive, 12-week, online program where participants learn strategies to increase their research productivity, gain greater control of their time and live a full and healthy life beyond campus.

DEI is offering funding assistance to faculty on a first-come-first-serve basis for half the program cost of $2,125. Faculty whose primary appointment is on main or health sciences campuses are eligible to apply for the funding assistance and are encouraged to seek additional support from their departments.
