The University of New Mexico’s Homecoming 2014: Howl@125 is right around the corner and now is the time to start thinking about your campus decorating contest entry. Campus departments and student organizations are invited to celebrate UNM’s by participating in the annual campus decorating contest.
“Getting involved in the homecoming festivities is a perfect way to encourage creativity, school spirit, community-building, and engagement,” said Lisa Lindquist, Homecoming committee member and co-chair of the decorating contest.
Dates to remember:
Sept. 15-19 – 125 disc (poster) available for pick up at Hodgin Hall. Inquire at the reception desk.
Sept. 19 – To be considered for the contest, video URL must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Video must be filmed using basic phone camera function and hosted via YouTube. Send entry information and URL to Lisa Lindquist (see info below). Registration forms and film URL due Sept. 19 by 12 p.m.
Sept. 24 – Deliver your decorated poster to the Student Union Ballroom by 10:30 a.m. to be considered for judging by People’s Choice during the Alumni Faculty/Staff luncheon. Entrants need to provide own easel for display.
Judging will take place online, and at the UNM Faculty and Staff Alumni luncheon. Each department entering the contest will receive one ticket to attend the Alumni Faculty/Staff luncheon. Additionally, every department that enters will receive a 2014 Commemorative Homecoming Poster and winners in each category will receive prizes donated from across the UNM community.
