If you work at UNM, but you didn't go to school here, you're still a Lobo and should not miss out on the Homecoming fun. Grab a mask and cape because the Staff Council cordially invites all staff in Lobo Metropolis to celebrate on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the southeast entrance to the Student Union Building.
For $5, enjoy a burger or hotdog, chips, ice cream and lemonade...and listen to some tunes.
And that's not all. A costume contest takes place during the barbecue. Costume categories are Super Hero, in keeping with the Homecoming theme, "Super U," and the other is to show off Lobo spirit in grand style. Costume contest winners receive a trophy, a $50 gift card to the UNM Bookstore, and other fine prizes. Lobo Louie will help select the winners. While at the barbecue, sign up to win door prizes.
Show off your own super powers by donating blood in the United Blood Services van from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
And Homecoming isn't over until the end of the game. Staff is invited to join the UNM Alumni Association ofr a Southwest Fiesta Tailgate and Silent Auction on Saturday, Oct. 6 beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Club Level of the Pit. For $15 per person, join fellow alumni and Lobo fans for the biggest tailgate event. Bid on great auction packages at the tailgate in The Pit. All proceeds benefit the UNM Alumni Association Scholarship Fund and programs.
After the tailgate and auction, head on over to University Stadium to watch the UNM Lobo football team take on the Texas State Bobcats. Game time is 4 p.m. and discount tickets are available for only $10.
To register for the Tailgate and to purchase homecoming football tickets, please visit the UNM Alumni Relations website.
