Information Technologies (IT) will host a security training session Monday, June 20, beginning at 10 a.m. in Lobo rooms A&B; at the Student Union Building. The training, SEC 546 / SANS IPV6 Essentials, will be taught by Dr. Johannes Ulrich.
"The training is beneficial to all UNM employees, technical-based and non, as it gives an overview of information technology security principles and best practices that everyone can benefit from using in their job," said Information Security Officer Jeff Gassaway, "
The training will also be available remotely via SANS vLive technology. There will also be an interactive chat for attendees to facilitate Q&A; sessions between in-person attendees and remote attendees.
"While remote sessions are available, if you are in the New Mexico area, I highly recommended attending in person," said Gassaway. "There is no cost difference, and having direct access to Dr. Ulrich's expertise will be of great value in the question and answer sections of the training."
Interested participants are encouraged to signup early as seating is limited and expected to fill up quickly. To register visit: IT Security Training.
