UNM IT Analyst Chris Martinez received the 2013 award for Helpdesk Analyst of the Year from the HelpDesk Institute (HDI) Rio Grande Chapter at a luncheon recently.
Martinez was nominated for the award by Manager Andrea Rodgers. “Chris is a workhorse,” Rodgers said. “He's reliable, enthusiastic and steady. He develops collaborative relationships with staff and customers, and is an established resource for guidance and mentoring in the Service Desk. He consistently volunteers to participate in special efforts, from hiring committees to project teams to working the holiday shift.”
With the award, Martinez, who plays a critical role in maintaining daily operations at the Service Desk, advances to the Western Region Analyst of the Year award competition, which will be announced later this month. A possible nomination for National Helpdesk Analyst of the Year could follow that competition for Martinez.
