UNM Information Technologies (IT), Associated Students of UNM (ASUNM), Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center (HSLIC), University Libraries (UL) and Student Life (Housing) are collaborating to bring improved print services to the UNM community. At the start of spring 2011 semester, students will see any remaining free printing balance on their Lobo card carried over from the previous semester.
Previously, the $10 print credit had to be used during the current semester and the balance was not carried forward, but in response to a request from ASUNM, any unused print credit funds will be added to the new semester's $10 print allowance.
"We're very happy to be able to offer this print credit rollover to UNM students," said ASUNM President Lázaro Cárdenas. "It will definitely help everyone maintain academic productivity by offering this print cost option."
The print credit was introduced in Fall 2009 as part of an effort to standardize print processes across campus and continue providing low-cost printing for the UNM community. Every current student receives $10 in printing credit on their Lobo Card each semester for printing in IT computer pods, University Libraries computers, the Language Learning Lab and HSLIC computers, and when the print credit runs out, students can add funds to their Lobo Card for printing purposes.
