The second annual Joe Sando Symposium on Pueblo Indian Studies is set for Thursday-Friday, March 5 and 6. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Thursday ($50 at the door, $15 with student ID). The symposium begins at 10 a.m. The event is hosted by the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA).

A former UNM faculty member, Sando is a noted historian, author and scholar from the Pueblo of Jemez. He is committed to the study of Pueblo Nations and their cultures and has inspired new generations of research, writing and debate about Pueblo history and life. His legacy will be honored by highlighting current research and creative expression in the field of Pueblo Indian Studies.
