A reception opens a new exhibition featuring a variety of artists in the mixed-media exhibition, “Healing…For the Time Being” on Friday, Feb. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the Jonathan Abrams, MD Art Gallery.

The exhibition and reception is located in the gallery at UNMH on the fifth floor of the Ambulatory Care Center, 5ACC, in the hallway in front of the Department of Internal Medicine.

The mixed media exhibition, in conjunction with On the Map: Albuquerque Art + Design, features a variety of artists including Thomas Barrow, Margot Geist/Anne Meyer Miner, Betty Hahn, Leigh Anne Langwell, Patrick Nagatani, Santiago Perez, Wesley Pulkka, Valerie Roybal and Emily Trovillion.

The title and theme of this exhibition takes inspiration from Zen Master Dogen’s Treasury of the True Dharma Eye. The artists in this show know illness and health, the impermanent cycles of life across time.  Their work illuminates and reveals how “we are linked with one another as moments.”  In light of artists “vigorously abiding,” often with humor and tenderness, we’re afforded a glimpse that heals, an infinitely sweet smile of compassion.

The exhibition continues through Friday, April 10. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. For more information, call Chris Fenton at (505) 272-9700 or email, Cfenton@salud.unm.edu.
