Miera Named Interim Dean of Continuing Education; Tenclay Interim Associate Dean

University of New Mexico Provost and Executive Vice President Chaouki Abdallah has announced the appointments of Joseph Miera as interim dean of Continuing Education and Sharon Tenclay as interim associate dean of Continuing Education.
"I am pleased to announce Joseph Miera as interim dean, and Sharon Tenclay as interim associate dean of Continuing Education. Joseph and Sharon's willingness to lead the Division of Continuing Education during the leadership transition has been very helpful," said Abdallah.
"They will be key advisors in discussions regarding the future of the Division of Continuing Education, and are strongly supported by the executive leadership team, staff and faculty. I believe they will both do an excellent job in the interim roles as we work to advance our goals in transforming continuing education at the University of New Mexico."
Miera is working toward a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at UNM. He has earned his B.S. in Accountancy from Arizona State University, as well as a Master of Public Administration degree from UNM. In addition, he is currently serving as Past Chair of the Learning Resources Network Board for 2011-2012 and has served on the Board of the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership in various capacities during the last 15 years, including the last six years as President of the Board.
Tenclay received her B.A. in Education, Humanities and Music from Northwestern College and is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Administration Program at UNM. She represents UNM Continuing Education on the Workforce Board of Central New Mexico (WCCNM), serves as the Bernalillo County representative on the WCCNM Executive Board, and chairs the Workforce Boards Training Provider Committee. Tenclay also chaired the New Mexico Career Pathways team to work with the US Departments of Labor, Education and Health & Human Services to develop new patterns and approaches to career ladders through lifelong learning.
