Kevin Ferrell, pre-award services contract and grant administrator in the Office of the Vice President for Research, has been appointed to the Electronic Research Administration Standing Committee of the Federal Demonstration Partnership of the National Academies.
The group's work focuses on improving the design of the U.S. government's main online grant application process, grants.gov. The federal grant application process is complex and not always user friendly. This committee works actively to streamline the administration of federal grants.
Associate Vice President for Research Administration Carlos Romero says, "It's a big appointment from the University's perspective, that we are being recognized as one of the universities actively acting to improve electronic research administration." Romero says the appointment underscores Ferrell's ability to work with different constituent group and gives UNM a seat at the national table to help determine policies and resources for research.
