The University of New Mexico Department of English and Bookworks host Afghani author Khaled Hosseini, award winning author of The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and his new novel, And the Mountains Echoed, on June 9 at 7 p.m. at the UNM Student Union Building Ballrooms B and C.

Tickets are $31, and include a copy of the latest book and a ticket to the event, where Hosseini will be interviewed by local journalist Gene Grant and signs books for each person. Tickets are available at the Bookworks store or online.

Hosseini is one of the world's best known presenters of Middle Eastern culture, though his best-selling fiction, and organizers would like to see a diverse crowd for his Albuquerque event, his only stop in New Mexico.
