Institutional Support Services (ISS) announces the appointment of Kurt Schlough as the new director of UNM Facilities Design & Construction (FDC). In this role, Schlough will lead design and construction efforts, ensuring our campus environments are forward-thinking and aligned with The University’s evolving needs.
Schlough holds a Bachelor of Interior Architecture from Kansas State University and brings over 29 years of experience in architecture and construction. His award-winning design work during 16 years in New Orleans, culminating in his role as vice president and design director, involved overseeing National University Performing Arts Building projects.
Over the past seven years in New Mexico, Schlough has applied his pragmatic planning, scheduling skills, and team-focused management style to turn clients’ ideas and architects’ visions into impactful university spaces for students, staff, and the public.
Schlough’s strategic problem-solving and collaborative approach will drive UNM’s efforts to optimize campus spaces. Please join us in congratulating Kurt Schlough on his new role and welcoming him to our university community.
