Shepherd plays have long been a tradition in New Mexico and Mexico. The combination of singing saints and devils, people with wings - and satire have delighted audiences for centuries. Follow the luminarias and farolitos to Alumni Chapel on Friday, Nov. 30 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Chocolate mexicano and bizcochitos will be served following the performance.

"Los Pastores is back!" exclaimed Enrique Lamadrid, chair, Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Departmental people often fill Alumni Chapel, but those who enjoy folk theater should mark their calendars.

The pastorela is sponsored by the Department of Spanish & Portuguese.
