The Latin American & Iberian Institute is accepting applications for a media travel grant to support a journalist's participation in Florida International University's 29th Annual Journalists & Editors Workshop on Latin America and the Caribbean, set for Thursday-Friday, May 5-6 at the Hotel Sofitel in Miami, Fla.
The 29th Annual Journalists & Editors Workshop on Latin America and the Caribbean, titled "Latin America's Energy Future," addresses energy, poverty & gender; Latin America's energy profile; Latin American energy powerhouses; global geopolitics; Central America and the Caribbean's energy needs; and, nuclear and nonconventional renewable energy needs.
LAII's media travel grant provides financial support for the travel, lodging and per diem expenses associated with participation in the workshop. Eligible applicants must be US citizens who are practicing journalists with a demonstrable interest in Latin America. Preference will be given to journalists practicing in New Mexico or adjoining areas.
