University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Community Education offers paralegal training and preparation for ACT/SAT test taking, among other online courses through the Center for Legal Studies.

Interested in becoming a paralegal, one of the fastest growing careers in the country? Students in the post-baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate Course or the Legal Secretary Certificate Course gain a comprehensive knowledge of the American judicial system with practical skills needed to assist trial attorneys, interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation.

UNM-LA partners with nationally recognized and acclaimed Center for Legal Studies to offer convenient and affordable online classes in legal studies including Law School Prep, Legal Secretary Certification, Software Essentials for the Law Office, Intellectual Property Law for Engineers and Legal Nurse Consultant Training. Test preparation courses include GMAT, GRE, LSAT and ACT/SAT.

“The Center for Legal Studies has been offering online coursework since 1980,” said Lisa Caldwell, program coordinator for Community Education at UNM-LA. “This is a great opportunity for students seeking a flexible and cost-effective way to pursue a career in the legal profession.”

Class sessions are offered year-round and generally run for seven weeks each. The next session of courses begins Jan. 11.
