Vice President for Student Affairs Eliseo “Cheo” Torres has appointed Ryan Lindquist, as the interim director of The University of New Mexico Student Activities Center effective Tuesday, Aug. 1.  Lindquist is filling the position vacated by Debbie Morris who retired on July 31.

Lindquist started his tenure at UNM as a student where he graduated with both a bachelor’s in Biology and a MBA in Organizational Behavior/Human Resources and has been with the University for 19 years. For the last 16 of those, he has been working in Student Activities Center.

Lindquist began as a student employee and most recently served as the Center’s associate director. In that capacity, he worked as a supervisor for UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life Team, the chartering for 450 student organizations, Campus Event Committee, Mid-Week Movie program, Welcome Back Days, Student Government Accounting Office, and advisor to ASUNM Student Special Events, ASUNM Lobo Spirit and Elections Commission.

Additionally, he participates in numerous campus-wide committees and is active on the UNM Alumni Association Board of Directors. He also has extensive volunteer and community work experience with various UNM organizations.
