The first Lobo Food Pantry of the spring semester is set for Friday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or while supplies last. The Lobo Food Pantry gives out the free food at the UNM South Parking Lot located on the southwest corner of Avenida Cesar Chavez and Buena Vista.

As part of the program, The University of New Mexico helps to feed hungry students with its Lobo Food Pantry, which offers students in need free groceries donated by the Road Runner Food Bank (RRFB) of New Mexico.

Students interested in receiving groceries must bring a valid student ID and boxes or bags to carry the groceries. Students who wish to have another individual pick up their groceries must contact the Dean of Students Office at (505) 277-3361.

To volunteer for set-up and clean-up from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. contact Tina Zuniga by 5 p.m. on Thursday at zunigat@unm.edu or call (505) 277-0058.

The next Lobo Food Pantries are set for Friday, Feb. 16, March 23 and April 27. Dates subject to change. Call 505-277-2911 to confirm.

The Lobo Food Pantry also accepts donations to help to keep the Lobo Food Pantry going. In the first six months of launching the pantry, more than 800 students and families were provided with free groceries. To donate, visit the donation page.
