The next installment of the UNM Alumni Association's Lobo Living Room features Judith Kennedy-Lavender presenting, “Heart of Collecting: Fifty Years of Collecting Southwestern Native American Art." A reception will be held prior to the event at 5:30 p.m. at Hodgin Hall, while the discussion begins at 5:45 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. RSVPs are requested by Tuesday, April 21 here.
Kennedy-Lavender shares a glimpse of her family history and how they came to New Mexico in the early 1900s. The presentation focuses on several artists who traded with Judith’s father, John W. Kennedy. These artists created many of the beautiful pieces in her collection that features art from Hopis, Navajo, Zunis and Rio Grande Pueblos.
Event parking is available in the lot east and along the north side of Hodgin Hall Alumni Center and the B lot at Central & University.
