The Alumni Association at the University of New Mexico hosts a Lobo Living Room event “America Seen from Afar: Reflections on our Nation” with speaker David Campbell on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center at Hodgin Hall. A reception will follow.
Campbell, distinguished UNM alumnus and Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, addresses the perceptions of America from abroad, both positive and negative, and touches on the rise of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, S. Africa) in international diplomacy, and the implications for the U.S. role in the world. Campbell also shares the roles that Albuquerque, the State of New Mexico and the University of New Mexico can play as global centers of cross-cultural understanding, international affairs and language study.
The Lobo Living Room is a venue that features notable UNM alumni discussing, demonstrating or performing in their areas of expertise and or UNM alumni-related events.
The event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is required. Visit Lobo Living Room by Tuesday, Feb. 25 to reserve your seat or call (505) 277-5808.
