Who can move 2,200 residents into their new homes in two days? Residence Life & Student Housing can with volunteers' assistance. Residence Life & Student Housing requests help with its second annual Operation: Lobo Move-in event Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20.

Last year more than 100 UNM faculty and staff volunteered to unload and carry residents' belongings to their new homes.

"Moving is one of the biggest challenges that our residents' face… You can make a huge difference simply by carrying a few things up a few flights of stairs," said Bobby Childers, operations manager, Residence Life & Student Housing.

Operation: Lobo Move-in is an opportunity to welcome incoming students.

"Operation: Lobo Move-in is an amazing opportunity for our residents to meet active members of the university, as well as learn about some of the great student organizations on our campus," said Ashleigh Reyna, former president of the Residence Hall Association.

Volunteers sign up for two-hour blocks. All volunteers receive a free Operation: Lobo Move-in T-shirt.
