It’s an event unlike any other. LoboTHON, the University of New Mexico’s fundraising dance marathon, takes students through an amazing journey for more than 13.1 hours as they remain dancing and standing to benefit the kids of UNM Children’s Hospital. The dance marathon will be held Saturday, March 28 at Johnson Center,
The mission of LoboTHON, which is organized by the UNM Dean of Students office, is to develop awareness and provide support to the UNM Children’s Hospitals and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in order to instill hope, health, and happiness in children and families within the hospital community through inspiring annual multi-faceted fundraising events.
Organizers are hoping to raise $62,000 this year for New Mexico Kids through donations raised by registered dancers and through sponsorships. For more information, visit Get Involved.
The festivities include a morale dance every hour on the hour during the event. Students partake in a morale dance taking them out of their comfort zone in the dance marathon spirit. To inspire students to remain standing, miracle families from New Mexico will share their stories and show students how their funds impact the lives of local children.
LoboTHON is not only inspirational, it’s fun. Plenty of entertainment and fun activities are planned throughout the event as well as free food and merchandise.
