All employees at The University of New Mexico are required to take several specific training courses each year. All regular faculty and staff, temporary faculty and staff, on-call staff and student employees, including grad students, are responsible for accessing the courses online independently.

This training is available through Learning Central. All applicable training plans are available along with the three mandatory training modules. The deadline for completing the mandatory training is Dec. 1

The three University-wide mandatory training courses for the current year include:

  • EOD 1018: Intersections: Preventing Discrimination and Harassment
    • This course raises awareness on the various topics of discrimination, harassment and sexual violence. The course includes animated scenarios, skill practices, UNM policies and resources, sound and closed caption (CC) capability.
  • SRS 0118: Basic Annual Safety Training 2018/Entrenamiento Basico de Seguridad Annual
    • This course provides an overview of basic safety on UNM campus. At the end of the course, you are required to complete the acknowledgment to confirm your training.
  • EOD 481-18: Active Shooter on Campus: Run, Hide, Fight
    • This course prepares you to report suspicious activity, recognize patterns of behavior that can lead to an active shooter event, and how to survive an active shooter event by using “Run, Hide, Fight.” Open and click the training acknowledgment after reviewing the content. This action is the only way you will receive credit for the course.

If you have reason for not taking the Intersections course, contact Heather Cowan, Title IX coordinator, or Francie Cordova, OEO director, at 277-5251.

If you have a reason for not taking the Active Shooter course, contact Deborah Kuidis, industrial security officer, Provost Office, at 277-2058.
