The Martineztown Park and "Angelitas de Caridad" sculpture, by Linda Dabeau, will be dedicated on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. Martineztown Park is located on El Camino Real and Roma, between Edith and High Streets NE.
Geraldine Forbes Isais, dean, UNM School of Architecture and Planning, said, "UNM will be prominently featured because many years ago, it was through the efforts of the students and faculty of the School of Architecture and Planning that the Martineztown neighborhood was saved from a potentially disastrous city infrastructure project. The school's Design Planning Assistance Center worked then, and has continued to work closely now, with the Martineztown residents to develop the public amenities and quality environment the neighborhood enjoys today."
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit cabq.gov/publicart.
