American Studies Colloquia Series presents, "Memorial Mania: Commemoration and Affect in Contemporary America," Friday, April 29 at 2 p.m. in the Sandia room located on the 3rd floor of the Student Union building.
Speaker Erika Doss is professor and chair of American Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She is the author of five monographs and one edited collection. Doss's most recent monograph is titled, "Memorial Mania: Public Feeling in America" (University of Chicago Press, 2010).
The lecture, sponsored by the Department of American Studies and the American Studies Graduate Student Association, is free and open to the public.
