A memorial service for Ann Massmann, who died Feb. 24 after a long illness, will be held Friday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in the Willard Reading Room at Zimmerman Library on the UNM campus.

A religious service will be held Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Church located at 4831 Tramway Ridge NE. It will be followed by a reception.

Massman, an archivist, faculty member and librarian, joined the Center for Southwest Research in 1995, eventually becoming head of public services for the Anderson Reading Room. She was active in the Society of American Archivists and was a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists. She was involved with outreach to the Native American archival community through her membership on the Society of American Archivists Native Americans Roundtable.

She also took part in establishing the historic Route 66 collections and served as a member of the National Park Service Route 66 Archives and Research Collaborative. Massman served as the preservation officer for University Libraries and was deeply involved in the recovery process after the Zimmerman Library fire in 2006.
