As part of the UNM Department of Political Science summer graduate course "Politics of Health Reform," Political Science 551/Public Health 560, Bernalillo County Commissioner Michelle Lujan Grisham will present a guest lecture on Friday, June 8 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in Santa Ana A&B; at the UNM Student Union Building. The lecture is open to UNM students and faculty.

The course, taught by Bill Smith, executive director, National Coalition of Sexually Transmitted Disease Directors (NCDS) and Jillian Medeiros, assistant professor of Political Science, and co-sponsored by the RWJF Center for Health Policy at UNM, explores the intersection of politics and healthcare in the United States with a focus on how healthcare reform and the Affordable Care Act impact aspirations of promoting health equity and reducing health-related disparities, particularly among minority populations.
