UNM PPD has scheduled lot repairs in the “A” Student Services lot starting Thursday, Oct. 13 through Friday, Oct. 14. The construction project, which will complete the water pipe repair work performed in summer 2016, will require temporary displacement of reserved and handicapped parking spaces in the construction area, some parking disruption to regular permit holders, and the temporary relocation of the Student Services bus stop used by UNM Redondo shuttle route and ABQ RIDE’s SunVan.
The repair work will require the closure of the entire row of parking along the north side of A-Student Services lot. To contain and close the construction area to all vehicles and traffic, barricades will be placed in the lot the week of Oct.10. Customers holding regular "A" permits who normally park in the affected lot may need to park in one of the other "A" lots located between Central and Redondo, south of Johnson Field.
During construction, the Student Services bus stop serviced by the Redondo shuttle bus and ABQ RIDE’s SunVan, will be temporarily relocated to the southwest corner of the tennis courts in the A-Student Health (SHAC) lot—signs will be posted accordingly.
PPD is also having the crosswalk between the Bookstore and the Cornell Mall restriped Thursday, Oct. 13. They will be restriping the back lot by the PPD building as well.
All UNM Parking regulations will be fully enforced during Fall Break. Combined shuttle service will also be in effect due to the limited needs of students during Fall Break. Visit the PATS website for shuttle service updates.
UNM loop LED lighting upgrade project
Over Fall Break, UNM PPD will also be replacing existing exterior street lighting fixtures with new LED fixtures around the Redondo, Las Lomas and Campus Blvd. loop on UNM’s main campus.
UNM PPD will furnish the fixtures while the supporting contractor will install fixtures using existing circuits, arms and poles.
