UNM will again join colleges and universities across the country to recognize the student workforce during National Student Employment Week April 7 - 13.

According to the National Student Employment Association, campus jobs provide career-enhancing opportunities to better prepare students for the world of work upon graduation. Employers are encouraged to recognize and celebrate the contributions of UNM's student workforce in a variety of ways including the week's festivities.

Earlier this year, students employed through the Student Employment Office were nominated for the annual Student Employee of the Year. They will participate in the National Student Employment Week festivities sponsored by UNM's Graduation Task Force Student Engagement Committee. As part of the festivities, on Friday, April 12, at 12 p.m. in the SUB Atrium, students nominated for UNM's Student Employee of the Year Award will be recognized and the winners will be announced.

Other events during the week include the Student Employee Week Carnival, sponsored by the Graduation Task Force, on Tuesday, April 9, in the SUB Atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Committee Members will provide refreshments and entertainment for student employees and their employers.

Career Services will host the Student Summer Job and Internship Fair in the SUB Ballroom on Thursday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. UNM departments can register for a free booth.
