The University of New Mexico Department of Linguistics' Navajo Language Program presents "Where's My Bill?" with Rose Graham Thursday, Nov. 17 from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building, Mirage-Thunderbird room.

Graham will discuss the Navajo Nation Council, which serves as the legislative branch of the Navajo Nation government, and the process individual bills must go through before being presented for final approval. The Council meets quarterly and in a 5th special budget session per year as stipulated by the Navajo Nation Code.

Graham, a former legislative assistant, offers a unique perspective of the complicated process, including an inside look at the approval system changes. Graham is department manager of the Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship and Financial Assistance in Window Rock, Ariz.

Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. An interpreter is available upon request.
