This week on New Mexico in Focus, two retiring state senators talk about what is behind their decision to step away from the legislature. It has become a popular move, as one-sixth of the N.M. Senate has chosen to retire. In the House of Representatives, still more elected officials are resigning, either altogether or to seek higher office.
KNME's one hour public affairs show New Mexico in Focus airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6:30 a.m. on Channel 5.1. The show can also be seen on KNME's Digital Channel 9.1 on Saturdays at 5 p.m. NMIF will not air this Sunday at 7 a.m. or on Saturday at 5 p.m. due to the Pledge Drive.
Joined by Santa Fe New Mexican political reporter Steve Terrell, NMIF's opinion experts dissect the bills and the vetoes likely to have the greatest impact as Gov. Susana Martinez closed the book on legislation this week.
