New Mexico PBS presents live "opening" coverage of the 2013 Legislative Session, beginning with the opening gavel on Tuesday, Jan. 15.  The session airs on Channel 5.1 and also on live-streaming online at  Programming includes the election of the Speaker of the House, and Gov. Susana Martinez's State of the State Address, followed by a live panel with analysis from the New Mexico PBS studios.

Coverage begins at noon, with an introduction by Gene Grant, host of PBS's weekly public affairs series New Mexico in Focus. Regular programming will resume until the House comes to order. The anticipated start time of 1 p.m. is approximate.

Following the governor's speech, the following panel will join Grant for live analysis.

• Eric Witt, former director of Legislative Affairs for Gov. Richardson
