On election night, Tuesday, Nov. 8, join KNME-TV, New Mexico PBS for trusted, in-depth, independent local and national coverage of the races and Issues important to New Mexicans, on two broadcast channels and streaming online.
Hosted by Gene Grant (New Mexico in Focus), former state lawmakers, regular Line opinion panelists, and local journalists will discuss key local and national issues in the 2016 elections. Coverage will also highlight New Mexico in Focus reporting on Native American voters this election year, women and the 2016 campaigns, the economic outlook and what's ahead in the 2017 legislative session.
Additionally, University of New Mexico communication and journalism students from New Mexico News Port will be working alongside the NM PBS staff. New Mexico News Port serves as a student publishing platform, a digital innovation lab and a news collaboration hub, working with various media partners. Also featured is former UNM Political Science Professor Christine Sierra.
