The next Lobo Living Room, “NMPBS: It Takes a Masterpiece to Present Masterpiece,” is scheduled for Thursday, June 29 at 5:15 p.m. (MDT) at New Mexico PBS. This month, Lobo Living Room guests include Franz Joachim, general manager & CEO, Ashley Rammelsberg, multimedia manager, and Jason Quinn, RF engineering manager.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the station's history and programming and see how they plan to evolve in the digital age. Attendees will also be able to view a special video made just for this event, learn about the station's connection to UNM, learn about the current and future state of technology, tour the facility and much more.

The event begins with hors d'oeuvres from 5:15-6 p.m., followed by the program from 6-8 p.m. New Mexico PBS is located at 1130 University Blvd., NE.

Franz Joachim
Franz Joachim
 is the general manager and CEO of New Mexico PBS (NMPBS). He has worked in television production for 35 years as a photographer, editor, director, and manager in a variety of production environments, including industrial, news, studio and long-form documentary production. In 1999, Joachim became the production and operations manager for KNME-TV. In this position, he supervised an extensive build-out of automated on-air operations and developed the digital file-based production workflow for KNME production.

In 2010, Joachim was promoted to director of Content, overseeing the scheduling, production, promotion, and distribution of content on-air and online. In 2013, Joachim was appointed general manager & CEO. During his tenure as general manager, NMPBS has launched the first full-service ATSC3.0 signal in public television, launched datacasting for public safety and public education, and led the system in adoption, integration, and innovation with new file-based technology for program delivery.

Joachim graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Radio-Television and a minor in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. While there, he worked for KUAT-TV (PBS), first on its student production crew and then as studio supervisor.

Ashley Rammelsberg
Ashley Rammelsberg
 is the manager of Multimedia Services for New Mexico PBS. She manages digital marketing and content for the station. She has a background in web development and graphic design. Rammelsberg has been in non-profit marketing for over a decade. She works to expand NMPBS in the multi-platform streaming realm.

Jason Quinn
Jason Quinn
 is the chief engineer and manager of Broadcast Technology. Quinn has an extensive history of working with Radio Frequency (RF) signals in many of various forms for the past 30 years. He started as a system designer for the cable industry in the early 1990s and moved on to the cell industry as the advancing technology was too interesting to ignore. When a spot opened up in the RF department, Jason found his home and has been here for almost 10 years.
