Senate Finance did not take up any of the retirement bills this afternoon.  The committee is scheduled to look at PERA solvency at 10 a.m. in the morning. The House has HB 64, ERB solvency, on its temporary calendar.

Meanwhile, Sen. Michael Sanchez (D-Belen) got a do pass on his lottery bill that pumps more money into the scholarship fund.  Committee chair Sen. John Arthur Smith (D-Deming) calls it a good stop gap measure until "responsible" plans come along. Smith said, "We even have university students coming up with something positive."  Note that UNM students are sponsoring a lottery solvency plan.  Note also that Sen. Sanchez said he would resist any changes to the plan as it is now designed.

The House is back on the floor at 10 a.m.  The Senate is scheduled back on the floor at 10:30 a.m.
