The University of New Mexico's Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) announced that reduced fare rates on the New Mexico Rail Runner Express will continue to be available to current UNM students, staff, and faculty through June 30. The reduced fare rates provide an average discount of about 50 percent, depending on the type of fare purchased. The announcement is timely as the Rail Runner recently announced a revised service schedule, which took effect May 21, 2012.
To take advantage of the reduced fare, UNM users must show their Lobo or HSC/UNM Hospital identification card to the ticket agent shortly after boarding the train. An additional discount is available to users who purchase their Rail Runner tickets online.

To make your connection between campus and the Rail Runner stop at the downtown Alvarado Transportation Center, PATS provides complimentary shuttle service once in the morning and twice in the afternoon. To view the schedule, visit complimentary shuttle service.
To work one-on-one with an alternative transportation trip-planner to learn more about how the Rail Runner can meet your transportation needs, visit or contact the PATS' Transportation Information Center (TIC) in the Lower Level of the SUB. The TIC is open Monday through Friday 8:30a.m. to 3p.m., 277-1920 or TIC@parking.unm.edu.
