The November elections are less than a month away, and voters will choose whether to approve a change to the state constitution and create an independent statewide ethics commission. This week on New Mexico in Focus, correspondent Gwyneth Doland sits down with three experts to explain the ethics commission proposal – and what will be determined by the Legislature, should the amendment pass.

On this month’s Our Land segment, NMiF correspondent Laura Paskus speaks with two UNM professors to look at where the environment fits into New Mexico’s most important political races this year.

Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists discuss the economic impact of the Netflix deal to purchase Albuquerque Studios and make the Duke City its next production hub. They also debate Gov. Martinez’s decision to relax some occupational license requirements and fees, and examine some down-ballot races in the upcoming election.

New Mexico PBS’ one-hour public affairs show New Mexico in Focus regularly airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1, and Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. on Channel 9.1, expect during pledge drives.
