This week on New Mexico in Focus, correspondent Gwyneth Doland looks at the undergraduate program in Russian language and culture at The University of New Mexico, where students can prepare for jobs that require a specialized knowledge of Russia. Doland sits down with students and instructors to hear how they are navigating new questions about the part of the world they study.

Also this week, Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate several top stories in the news, including tax proposals and defeats, the end of the short-lived WisePies era at The Pit, and a look at the crowded field of candidates for the next mayor of Albuquerque.

The show regularly airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1 and Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. on Channel 9.1, except during pledge drives.
