The University of New Mexico Peace Studies Program and the Maxwell Museum present a talk on nuclear disarmament issues to students, faculty and the public, with speaker George Lopez, Wednesday, March 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hibben Center auditorium located just south of the Maxwell on main campus. The lecture is free, refreshments will be provided.
Lopez holds the prestigious Hesburgh Chair of Peace Studies at the Notre Dame Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and is a member of the United Nations Panel of Experts for monitoring and implementing UN Sanctions on North Korea. He is a prominent speaker on nuclear disarmament, and has published numerous academic papers and books dealing with aspects of global conflict and peaceful resolutions.
