The Office of Student Academic Success at the University of New Mexico is offering academic coaching workshops to those interested in helping with UNM's retention efforts. Coaches assist students through a process of self-discovery to experience success as they take action to move forward in their academic progress.
To become a coach, interested applicants must attend the Level I "Intro to Academic Coaching Skill" training, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 25 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the LoboLab training center in the Student Union Building. In addition, applicants must complete an online form located at Coaching Application.
Upon completion of Level I training, those interested in further building their skills are encouraged, but not required, to take the Level II course "Enhancing the Coaching Relationship: Coaching Different Personalities & Populations for Positive Outcomes," on Friday, Oct. 26 from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the LoboLab training center.
