University of New Mexico President Robert G. Frank currently seeks nominations for the Presidential Award of Distinction. Established by Frank in 2013, the award is one of UNM’s most prestigious awards and is awarded at the sole discretion of the University President. Nominations must be received by the Office of the President, Scholes Hall, Room 144, no later than Friday, Oct. 10, 2014.

Students, faculty and staff are all eligible for the award. It is given to distinguished persons in recognition of outstanding career achievement, scholarly excellence, leadership in respective professions, noteworthy public service, humanitarian endeavors and to honor other activities that the President determines worthy of the award.

To nominate someone for the award, submit a letter stating in sufficient detail the reasons for the nomination. Letters should include biographical information, a record of accomplishment and supporting letters from those who can speak to that record. Since the selection committee must review many illustrious and notable nominees, nominations should be sent in as soon as possible.

For more information on the award, visit the Presidential Award of Distinction website or call (505) 277-1540.
