The UNM Global Education Office (GEO) is seeking applicants to participate in the 2019 International Festival on Thursday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held on UNM’s main campus at Cornell Mall east of the Student Union Building (SUB). GEO is seeking participation from student groups, community groups, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and musical and artistic performers. Sign-ups must be submitted online at geo.unm.edu by Monday, April 8.
“It is the day of the year when international students at UNM showcase and share their culture with the community. It is a fun day of food, crafts and amazing performances,” said UNM student Mosharaf Mahmud Syed.
The Festival is an opportunity to highlight the global community at UNM and around Albuquerque in order to inspire greater cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
This academic year, UNM is home to 1,300 international students and scholars from 104 countries. International students and scholars are encouraged to share their culture through traditional clothing, food, music, and crafts from their country of origin.
Be sure to sign up by Monday, April 8 to share cultural music, dance, art, or food from your country of origin. This event is free to attend and open to all members of the UNM and Albuquerque community.
The International Festival is sponsored by the UNM Global Education Office and produced in collaboration with ASUNM Student Special Events (SSE). To participate in the event, complete the online form at geo.unm.edu. Follow GEO on Facebook for updates.
