The UNM Parent Association is kicking off an exciting new fundraising partnership with Bagolitas on Thursday, July 15 from 11:30 a.m. through 7 p.m. in Santa Ana A&B in the UNM Student Union Building. This is a fun event for all Lobo fans including parents, alumni, students, faculty, staff and the Lobo community at large that supports a great cause in the process – student scholarships.

Bagolitas manufactures spunky handbags and accessories, including their licensed products and is kicking off this partnership by donating an extra five percent from event sales. All proceeds (100 percent) received from Bagolitas event will benefit the UNM Parent Association Parent Fund for Excellence (UNM Student Scholarships fund).

Last year, the UNM Parent Association awarded four scholarships to students and for the 2010-11 academic year the Association plans to award six. During the scholarship evaluation process, parents serving on the Scholarship Committee were overwhelmed with the number of applications received. This indication of financial need and current economic conditions, has made the Parent Association more determined than ever to help raise more funds for students.
