Rene Clausen's "Requiem" was commissioned and premiered in the University of New Mexico's Popejoy Hall on April 26 as part of UNM's choral program's 100th anniversary. The choral program has been invited to bring this concert to Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

UNM choral participants and acquaintances are welcome to attend or participate in the New York City event. Arrival is set for Friday, March 16, 2012 with morning and afternoon rehearsals on Saturday, March 17. Sunday, March 18 features a morning rehearsal, an afternoon concert, and a post-concert banquet.

Costs include $640 for singing participants or $340 for non-singing participants (both due Tuesday, Jan. 10) and $60 for registering for the spring semester of University Chorus. The program will reserve rooms in a Manhattan hotel near the Lincoln Center at approximately $300 per night. Participants and attendees are welcome to share rooms (three to a room) or make other lodging arrangements.

Bradley Ellingboe is the conductor for rehearsals and the concert. Clausen will be composer-in-residence for the weekend's events.
