In an effort to limit the amount of abandoned bicycle locks and bicycles on campus, the Physical Plant Department will begin the process of tagging, photographing and removing any abandoned bicycles on the University of New Mexico campus.
Starting on Monday, May 9, any abandoned bicycles will be marked with a yellow tag notifying the user of its potential removal by the Physical Plant Department. Signs will also be posted near bicycle racks notifying users that any abandoned bicycle locks will be removed.
Beginning on Monday, May 16, any bicycle that has been tagged and not removed by the owner will be taken to the UNM Police Department, and any abandoned bicycle lock will be cut-off and taken to metal recycling.
