Faculty, staff and students at The University of New Mexico (UNM) are eligible for a half-price discount on season tickets at Popejoy Hall.

With "An American in Paris" and "Dirty Dancing" coming to Albuquerque, as well as performances from fan favorites Bernadette Peters and Lily Tomlin, the 2016-17 season is a can't-miss spectacle for all lovers of the arts and culture.

“We are the only hall in the State of New Mexico capable of hosting all the shows we do,” said Tom Tkach, director of Popejoy Hall. “That allows us great flexibility in the programs we offer.”

In addition to "An American in Paris" and "Dirty Dancing," the upcoming Popejoy Presents season includes touring theatrical productions "Matilda the Musical," "Neil Simon’s Last of the Red Hot Lovers," "Taj Express: The Bollywood Musical Revue," and the Russian National Ballet performing "Cinderella."

Seventeen other shows round out the season, including companies from Ireland, China, Australia, Sweden and the United States.

The half-off discount for season tickets, also called a subscription, is available for the following:

  • UNM faculty and staff employed at least halftime;
  • UNM students enrolled with at least six credit hours in a degree-granting program.

The subscription discount is available for a limited time only, beginning Monday, July 18 for new subscribers, and ends Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.

The discount to staff and faculty is offered as a taxable benefit, and generous funding from UNM’s Student Fee Review Board supports the student discount. Popejoy Hall is a division of Institutional Support Services at UNM.
