The Provost's Committee for Staff is currently accepting applications for fall 2010 Academic Support Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to staff who wish to pursue their education and have any financial need not covered by tuition remission such as course fee, books and other course supplies. Three $250 scholarships will be offered. The deadline for applications is Aug. 16, 2010.
To be eligible courses must be used toward a degree, certificate or professional development program; staff members must pass the UNM Employment Probationary Status; be at least a .50 FTE UNM employee; and have a "Meet Expectations" or better on the most recent Performance Review.
Application guidelines include a completed application form, which is available online, a statement summarizing the applicants' academic path and the benefits these funds will have towards an academic degree.
The scholarship will be awarded each semester, and recipients of this award will be selected by members of the Provost's Committee for Staff. To increase the number of staff receiving this assistance, the scholarship will not be given to the same student in successive semesters.
